Ella Marie Gray, Violin
A frequent recitalist on both the East and West coasts, Ella Marie Gray began her career as a member of the Kronos Quartet and since that time has developed her taste for diversity. On her return to her native Seattle she joined the Northwest Chamber Orchesta, specializing in music of the Baroque and early Classical periods, and performed frequently with the Seattle Symphony and Seattle Opera. For 17 years, Gray was solo violinist with the New Performance Group and later became a founding member of the Rainier String Quartet and the adventurous new music ensemble, Quake.
From 2003–2005, Gray was artist in residence at the Santa Barbara Chamber Music Festival. In 2006, she appeared at the Biennale di Zagreb, and in 2007 and 2008 was solo violinist with CrossSound Festival in Alaska. She has been a faculty member of Western Washington University and Cornish College of the Arts and has performed with Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Symphony, and Dallas Chamber Orchestra. She is currently a member of Pacific Northwest Ballet and is Assistant Concertmaster of New Hampshire Music Festival.
