Camerata New England's concertmaster is American violinist Jae Young Cosmos Lee, who was acclaimed by the Boston Globe as an artist "... in complete command ... a performance bursting with color ..." for his performances with the Radius Ensemble. Mr. Lee is currently assistant concertmaster of the Boston Philharmonic. He is also a member of the Portland Symphony Orchestra and a founding member of A Far Cry, a self-conducted chamber orchestra based in Boston. He is a recipient of numerous awards and honors, and has performed at many of the finest music festivals in North America, Europe, and the Far East, including Aspen, Norfolk, Banff, Scotia, Prussia Cove, and Kneisel Hall.
Mr. Lee holds degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the New England Conservatory, and has worked closely with the members of the Audubon, Juilliard, Cleveland, and Takacs Quartets. He is a boisterously rabid fan of the Boston Red Sox, and a meticulous creator of flame-broiled delectables on the open grill.
